Real Impact

The Lawyers' Committee Group, a nonprofit fighting for civil rights, recognized American Express' Chairman and CEO, Steve Squeri, as their 2022 corporate leadership awardee. 

The Lawyers' Committee uses legal advocacy to achieve racial justice, fighting inside and outside the courts to ensure that Black people and other people of color have the voice, opportunity, and power to make the promises of our democracy real. 

American Express wanted to create a video to be played at the award ceremony to highlight their work to date and their further commitment toward building a more equitable future for their Black colleagues, customers, and community.

Per the committee's mission, we wanted to show what real democracy looks like by featuring incredible small business owners and nonprofit leaders that American Express is proud to support.
